Odense University Hospital ensures reliable operation with Eaton's SF6-free medium voltage solution

#SF6-free As one of Denmark's largest hospitals, OUH is dependent on a stable power supply to support critical functions such as medical equipment, IT infrastructure and communication systems. The increasing demand for energy and the challenges related to the capacity of the electricity grid in Denmark made it necessary to invest in a robust power supply that can ensure operations around the clock – even during power outages. Bravida, one of the Nordic region's leading suppliers of service and installation solutions, won the contract to deliver, establish and operate the entire 10 kV infrastructure for the new OUH. The task included a central switching station and power distribution to the hospital's 35 transformers. As part of Bravida's overall solution, Eaton supplied SF6-free switchgear for both the main supply system, the emergency supply, and the hospital's 50 kiosks. The solution included two Power Xpert UX 10 kV units for the main and emergency utilities as well as Xiria 630 10 kV medium-voltage systems for the many kiosks. Eaton's Power Xpert UX medium-voltage system is a compact, versatile primary system with high reliability for both power supply and production, with voltages up to 24 kV that can be adapted to different needs. To control and protect hospital kiosks, Eaton supplied compact Xiria 630 systems with intelligent remote control and monitoring. The systems are designed for medium-voltage applications in the utility sector, industry, and renewable energy installations.
