Extending transformer temperature ratings with PEAK designs
1:01:31
This session reviews transformers designed to IEEE standard C57.154-2012. This recent standard was developed to acknowledge the advantages of Natural Esther Insulating Oils, such as Cargill Envirotemp FR3 fluid, and its application in new transformer designs that expand the capabilities of transformers to operate at higher temperatures. These new 75 degree C ratings, which Eaton refers to as PEAK transformers, provide for expanded ratings in smaller physical packages.
