The MOVS family of metal oxide varistors are offered in 2825 and 4032 footprints. They cover working voltages from 11 to 510 volts RMS and can withstand surge currents up to 1750 amps. The MLVHV family of multilayer varistors offer an ultracompact solution for overvoltage protection with EIA 0604 and 0806 footprints. These are available with working voltages up to 300 volts AC and a max peak current up to 160 amps. The wide variety of sizes and ratings include options suitable for consumer, computing, energy, medical and industrial applications and allows designers to select the device that optimizes board area and surge protection needs to the application.
